But it just didn't work for me! I don't think that listening to fantasy stuff as an audiobook works for me. I think it's easier to listen to fluffier stuff. But maybe I'll try the sequel. I'm curious to see where it will go!RattleThePageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00384685788016281486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5478447915672497112.post-24349386106801870242016-03-29T19:43:01.487-05:002016-03-29T19:43:01.487-05:00I really think that a lot of my problems with this...I really think that a lot of my problems with this book might not have been so obnoxious to me if I hadn't listened to it as an audiobook. But I don't really want to test that theory by buying a hardcopy and trying to read it again someday! Ha! But yeah, the instalove was what I found to be the worst. So obnoxious! We can't love them all though!RattleThePageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00384685788016281486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5478447915672497112.post-24703251922960253472016-03-29T01:07:04.680-05:002016-03-29T01:07:04.680-05:00I'm glad you didn't dislike this one too m...I'm glad you didn't dislike this one too much! It seemed to be hit or miss, for most people. I adored the book so much (it's rare that I liken a book to Cashore's), and I'm definitely waiting on the sequel impatiently. :D

Great review, Cyra!

Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!Alyssahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00128004483437247740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5478447915672497112.post-74252802097125144122016-03-28T23:00:08.737-05:002016-03-28T23:00:08.737-05:00My main frustration with this book was that it fel...My main frustration with this book was that it felt like instalove (I get it was like a year in book time but it happened so fast ugggghhhh) and all of the main character's flip-flopping between the rebellion and the prince. Otherwise I mostly liked it, and I found the epigraph with the tales about the gods really interesting, but that's probably mostly because A) I read a hard copy of the book B) I love folk tales/legends/religions within fantasy novels and C) I'm a huge sucker for epigraphs. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy this one very much!Tamara @ Tamaraniachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14820571804284076119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5478447915672497112.post-81151177198370089522016-03-28T19:49:37.567-05:002016-03-28T19:49:37.567-05:00I was really disappointed because I had such high ...I was really disappointed because I had such high hopes for this one! But I guess we just can't love them all, can we? I'm glad I got this book as a free Audible credit! Especially since I only started seeing not so positive reviews for this book AFTER I got it!RattleThePageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00384685788016281486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5478447915672497112.post-9989756393633242402016-03-28T12:46:24.230-05:002016-03-28T12:46:24.230-05:00I totally agree with you about this, and I had man...I totally agree with you about this, and I had many of the same issues! I didn't love this book either, though I did have high expectations for it.
