Today is the final day of the Get Up Offa That Slump Blogging Extravaganza hosted by Rachel at Beauty and the Bookshelf! So without further ado, I shall list some positive things about blogging!

The prompt for this post says:

It's THE LAST DAY. I hope you've enjoyed the Blogging Extravaganza and that it's helped to give you a gentle shove back into blogging, and that it's given you some blogging inspiration. For the last post we're getting just a wee bit serious. Even if you're struggling with blogging, you're still here and you're still doing this; there's a reason why you don't want to quit blogging, and you know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. So tell us: Why are you still here? What makes blogging worth it? Why is it so fun and fantastic and you don't want to let it go? Why do you love it? (And the goods outweigh the few hardships, don't they?)

In general, when I started doing this little extravaganza, I wasn't feeling very negative about blogging, I just like to participate in stuff especially when it gives fun prompts for what to post about. I wasn't really struggling anymore than usual to come up with things to post about. I just think I'm still too new to be too terribly blahhhhh about blogging. But I shall list a few of my favorite things about blogging!

1. BOOK RECCOMENDATIONS!!

Since I started blogging last June, I have heard of SO many amazing new books that I'm just dying to read! If I hadn't started following people on Twitter or reading other people's blogs, I wouldn't have heard of a lot of the books on my shelf right now. I probably wouldn't have even given some of them a second glance at the bookstore! And that, my friends, would be the most tragic thing ever. The Wrath and the Dawn? Probably wouldn't have ended up reading that one. A Court of Thorns and Roses? Wouldn't have picked that one up based on the cover probably. Not sure if I can say I would have picked up Salt to the Sea or walked past it and that is the most tragic realization of all because LOOOOOOOOVE.

2. FRIENDS!!

If it weren't for books and blogging, I wouldn't have made myself a twitter account. I wouldn't have connected with any of the awesome people I've met through blogging. I would still be dying on the inside waiting for my sister to finish one of my recommendations so we can talk about it or just babbling the BF's ear off even though I can see that it goes in one ear and directly back out the other. That would be sad. I love all you lovely bookworms. You make me happy.

3. THE PERK OF EARLY BOOKS!!

This is a fun one! I like that blogging has given me access to eARCs on Netgalley and Edelweiss! And most recently physical ARCs from publishers! I just got my first one this month (The Star-Touched Queen!!). It's nice to know that I've worked hard enough that I finally got my first physical one! But anyway, I feel so lucky that I have access to these resources! It has saved me more than one time from buying a book that I had been looking really forward to that I didn't actually end up enjoying! And when my job was looking pretty bleak and I never had any money, I still had access to new books through this, that was nice too!

Those are just a few of the many reasons why I love blogging! More so the first two, I have started to see number three as more so just a perk, but it's a perk that I quite enjoy!

Get Up Offa That Slump: Tell Us Your Ways & My Dream Easter Basket

Today for the blogging extravaganza, I'm going to be doing both prompts. They both sound like fun so I decided not to make myself choose. First I will be sharing with you my blogging ways! The prompt for this post says:

As we all know, blogging isn't easy. Sometimes it's hard to write a post, other times it's hard to stay organized and keep up with everything that goes into blogging--it's almost like you need a system to help keep the flow going. If you have any methods to help make blogging work and keep it the most enjoyable and actually do stuff, please share your ways and cheat sheet!

I have kind of talked about this topic before, awhile ago. I had really been struggling with posting meaningful content on a regular basis and basically just stared at blank posts like what do I doooo?

Well, I decided to implement a blogging schedule. I found that this helped me be soooo much more productive. I have days of the week set for certain posts and days set where I can either post nothing, or if something interesting comes up, I can have wiggle room to rearrange posts to make everything fit or whatever. This has seriously worked wonders for me.

The schedule I have set up is as follows:

Monday: Review

Tuesday: Top Ten Tuesday

Wednesday: Once a month, I do a Waiting on Wednesday post containing all the books I'm looking forward to that are releasing the next month.

Thursday: Discussion

Friday: Nothing

Saturday: Stacking the Shelves

Sunday: Tags/Awards/Nothing/Whatever

When I first started my schedule, I figured I could just use it until I got more into the swing of things, but now that I have had it for awhile, I don't think I ever want to get rid of it! Maybe tweak it every now and then, but having it set up this way makes it SO much easier to plan things out and be productive and it makes blogging feel so much less intimidating to me.

If I was gonna change one thing, I had just recently thought that maybe I could do a discussion every other week instead of every week? It gets really hard to come up with a topic EVERY week sometimes even with the fact that once a month I use my discussion topic to talk about something relating to my life rather than books. I feel like my discussions aren't as meaningful as I would like for them to be.

Now onto how I keep my blog posts organized and plan them out and such! In January, I bought a composition notebook that I have been planning things out in. It wasn't meant to be like a bullet journal when I started it, just a more convenient planner, but it has kind of turned into a bullet journal type thing.

For each new month, I have been doing a page labelled with the month and year and then I'll write down a tentative TBR of the books I want to get to or have to get to during the month. I also keep a list of books I have read, books I have bought, and books I have otherwise acquired during the month.

Then on another page, I write out my posts by day of the week. Like I list all the Mondays of the month together, all the Tuesdays together, etc. Since they should all generally have the same type of post, I like to have them together to see how many of each type of post I have to come up with for the month. You can kinda see what I mean in the picture below.

I write in the name of the post when I figure out what I'm going to do for that day and then I highlight it when I'm done with it and have it scheduled. I have really found that this system works really well for me!

I also have a page in my notebook with a list of all the reviews I have written/posted on my blog to keep track of where I have them cross posted and the date if they aren't out yet so I can cross post them when they come out! It works out really nicely, I find.

Well, I think that's about all I have to share on that subject. Now I still want to share what would be in my dream Easter basket!

The first thing that came to my mind when I thought of what I wanted to see in my dream Easter basket was Game of Thrones merchandise. I just recently finished watching season 3 of the show and I am LOVING it so far! I want to get the books soon so this is a list of what I would love to see in my basket:

Get Up Offa That Slump: Plan a Fictional Trip

Today for the Get Up Offa That Slump Blogging Extravaganza, I will be planning a fictional trip!

This is easy peasy to plan out because I can't think of any fictional trip that would be more magical than seeing the places from Harry Potter!

I would need to get the full experience so I would obviously have to start by going through Diagon Alley!

I would have to check out all the stores. Ollivander's, the pet store, the broom shop, all of them! I'd need to rob Gringott's because I'd be going on an epic shopping spree here! I'd have to buy all of the wizard goodies!

Besides that, it wouldn't be a Harry Potter trip without catching a Quidditch match!

Being that I'm not a sports person (fictional or otherwise), this would all be for the experience. I'd just want to watch a big match and buy gear for whichever team happens to have the hottest dude playing for them.

I'd take a trip to Hogsmeade definitely! Gotta check out Honeyduke's and buy ALL the sweets! Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, I'd have to sample it all.

After that, I'd hit up the Three Broomsticks and take a break with a delicious Butterbeer! And take a stroll to play tourist at the Shrieking Shack!

Another MUST SEE location on my fictional trip is Weasley's Wizard Wheezes! This is another place where I'm gonna need to buy ALL the things! Gotta take some good jokes home to play on my friends!

And, of course, no Harry Potter themed trip would be complete without a ride on the Hogwarts Express and a tour of Hogwarts itself! I would absolutely adore seeing Hogwarts and all its glory!

So, in a nutshell, that is my dream fictional trip! I'm sure there are SO many amazing things I could see in the Harry Potter world, but off the top of my head, these are the places that I would most like to see!

Oh. My. Word. This book is so amazing! I can't even get over how much I love love loved this book!!!

Do you like historical fiction?

This book is set in WWII Prussia. The Russian Army is advancing and refugees from all over are fleeing to a group of ships, hoping for passage to unoccupied Germany. Ten thousand people pile onto the doomed Wilhelm Gustloff hoping to head to safety.

I had never heard of the events of this book before. Which is SO surprising because it's about the worst maritime disaster in ALL OF HISTORY! More people died in this tragedy than the Titanic and the Lusitania combined! I have spent HOURS looking up information on this since I finished reading the book.

There is another WWII event mentioned in this book that I had never heard of before, a massacre. I looked that up too and that is just AWFUL!

Do you like feels?

This book obviously ends in some tragedy. A book about the world's deadliest shipwreck is definitely going to end in death, tragedy, and tears. I can attest that you will get the feels if you read this book. I would have tissues handy.

Do you like short chapters?

I don't know if I would normally find this to be a thing worth mentioning, but I think it's nice for this book! If you are someone who tends to read til you can barely keep your eyes open, but also don't like to quit in the middle of a chapter, this will work nicely for you.

Do you like multiple POVs?

This book has 4 points of view. This isn't something I really care for, combined with the short chapters, I thought that I was going to have trouble connecting with this book. But oh boy was I wrong.

The characters are great. The story follows a Lithuanian girl, a German boy, a Polish girl, and a Nazi soldier. I looooved the Polish girl! She was, by far, my favorite character. The events of this book are not good to her, but she is so strong and she pulls through everything.

I didn't care for the Nazi guy. Besides the fact that he's just icky, he's weird. His point of view had me going from ew, he's weird, to maybe he's misunderstood (NOT about the fact that he's a Nazi, the things going on in his flashbacks to his life before the war). But I definitely settled on weird and icky for him. He was almost cringe-worthy to read about because his POV is like 75% letters he's writing in his head to his 'sweetheart' back home that are so far from the truth that it is almost painful to read.

There are several other important characters in the book, who are all just wonderful. They're all so interesting and I want to hug them all.

This book is a captivating historical story full of hopefulness and heartache and is so so so worth the read! And look at that lovely cover!! I don't know what more I can tell you. If I was someone else reading this post, I would have been hooked at the history lesson.

Get Up Offa That Slump: Book Spine Poetry

For today's Get Up Offa That Slump post, I'm going to do book spine poetry! I have done book spine poetry one other time for the Love-A-Thon and thought it was so fun! So I'm going to try it again!

Once again, my book spine poem turned out to be more of a story. I was really aiming for more of a poem this time, but I guess I just like telling stories about evil queens with my book spines because that's what I feel like I got again.

So, what I feel like I'm trying to say with this is:

The Shadow Queen ensnared the bitter [I'm gonna say bitter like it's really cold] kingdom. Ice like fire, burning glass. Falling kingdoms splintered.

Then there's defiance from the star-touched queen, brightly woven she unhinged the reign of shadows. First comes her wrath and then with the dawn comes the v-word [victory]. They lived strange and ever after.

I mostly threw Brightly Woven in there because it sounded pretty. I don't really know what I would have it mean.

There you have it! My newest book spine poetry story masterpiece! I think that this time I had a harder time getting a picture I liked than getting a poem I liked. But overall, I feel pretty good about my work!

Get Up Offa That Slump: Mad Libs

 

Today for the Blogging Extravaganza hosted by Rachel at Beauty and the Bookshelf, I have created a Mad Lib! I chose part of a scene from Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken! You can find it on pages 366 to 367!

This was a lot harder than I was expecting it to be. I think I needed a refresher course in basic English to do this, but with a little help from two equally clueless humans, I finally got something I'm happy with! Enjoy! :)

Mad Lib:

     "Just shut up and start VERB (ING) each other's PLURAL NOUN already," NAME 1 grumbled, VERB (ING) ADVERB against the NOUN. She would never admit it aloud, but I knew the PLURAL NOUN on her NOUN were VERB (ING) her alive with NOUN. "I'm trying to make up for the NOUN I VERB (ED) when you started VERB (ING) at each other like PLURAL NOUN in heat."
     "Miss NAME 1," NAME 2 said, "has anyone ever told you that you are positively the NOUN on the sundae of NOUN?"
     She VERB (ED) at him, "Anyone ever told you your NOUN is shaped like a NOUN?"
     "That is physically impossible," NAME 3 VERB (ED). "He'd be ---"
     "Actually,"NAME 2 began, "NAME 4 once did try to --- What?"
     "Oh, I'm sorry," NAME 3 said, "apparently the middle of my NOUN VERB (ED) the beginning of yours. Do VERB."
     "I'm going to guess you probably don't want to hear about the time he VERB (ED) my NOUN through the neighbor's NOUN...."
     "Was there a lot of NOUN?" NAME 1 asked, suddenly interested, "Did you lose an NOUN*?"

     "Then, no," she said. "No one wants to hear your ADJECTIVE-ass NOUN."

-The * indicates that both of those nouns should be the same word.

Mad Lib filled out:

     "Just shut up and start DANCING each other's BATTERIES already," GRETCHEN grumbled, RELOADING SLOWLY against the LAKE. She would never admit it aloud, but I knew the ANTLERS on her FAN were SQUATTING her alive with BELT. "I'm trying to make up for the TRAILER I SWAM when you started FISTBUMPING at each other like PINGPONG BALLS in heat."

     "Miss GRETCHEN," PEG said, "has anyone ever told you that you are positively the CORD on the sundae of TOE?"

     She SHOWERED at him, "Anyone ever told you your LID is shaped like a DOG?"

     "That is physically impossible," DANIEL DUG. "He'd be ---"

     "Actually,"PEG began, "DOUG once did try to --- What?"

     "Oh, I'm sorry," DANIEL said, "apparently the middle of my TREADMILL ATE the beginning of yours. Do WEAVE."

     "I'm going to guess you probably don't want to hear about the time he SCRATCHED my WINDSHIELD through the neighbor's CURLING IRON...."

     "Was there a lot of CLOCK?" GRETCHEN asked, suddenly interested, "Did you lose an JACK-O-LANTERN*?"

     "PEG held his CROWNS up next to his JACK-O-LANTERNS*, indicating both were still LOUDLY SWUNG to his OVEN.

     "Then, no," she said. "No one wants to hear your BRUISED-ass NAIL GUN."

Original Scene:

     "Just shut up and start sucking each other's faces already," Vida grumbled, leaning awkwardly against the stump. She would never admit it aloud, but I knew the burns on her back were eating her alive with pain. "I'm trying to make up for the sleep I lost when you started screeching at each other like cats in heat."
     "Miss Vida," Liam said, "has anyone ever told you that you are positively the whipped cream on the sundae of life?"
     She glared at him, "Anyone ever told you your head is shaped like a pencil?"
     "That is physically impossible," Chubs groused. "He'd be ---"
     "Actually," Liam began, "Cole once did try to --- What?"
     "Oh, I'm sorry," Chubs said, "apparently the middle of my sentence interrupted the beginning of yours. Do continue."
     "I'm going to guess you probably don't want to hear about the time he pushed my head through the neighbor's fence...."
     "Was there a lot of blood?" Vida asked, suddenly interested, "Did you lose an ear?"
     "Liam held his hands up next to his ears, indicating both were still firmly attached to his skull.
     "Then, no," she said. "No one wants to hear your boring-ass story."

Get Up Offa That Slump: Bash That Book

Today for the Blogging Extravaganza hosted by Rachel at Beauty and the Bookshelf, I will be attempting to write a book bash without naming the book or anything that could totally give it away. Let's see if I can do it!

Okay, so this is going to be a bash for a book that I read at the beginning of 2015 and I REALLY had a hard time reading it. I ordered this book because the synopsis sounded really interesting and the cover was very pleasing to the eye. But as soon as I ordered it, I saw someone saying DON'T BUY THIS BOOK! Then I checked Goodreads and knew I had probably made a mistake. But I gave it a chance anyway.

First of all, the book revolves around a group of people with a specific job that seems to be polar opposite between the definition and the actual practice of the job. They are meant to be protectors of the weak and wronged, but seem more like glorified vigilantes gone wrong.

The main group of characters is just finishing their training and all but one of them passes the final test. As the others are getting ready to take the sacred oath, their parents are all trying to tell them to just not. Why would they let their children spend their entire lives training to be in this profession and then RIGHT at the end, tell them to pass on the opportunity? Why not just forbid them to do it? It makes a lot more sense than letting them waste all those years training. They don't heed the warnings of their parents and take the oath and find that being what they were training to be isn't the life they thought they would live. When they take their first assignment, there is no explanation as to what actually happened during it or what they went there to do and why as far as I remember. But they can't back out now or they'll have to die.

These people have the stupidest method of transportation in the world and I don't even know how to go into a description of it.

Then there is a group of other people who are basically like glorified vigilante police. They are only to intervene in glorified vigilante business if something needs to be set right, but do you think that stops them from sticking their noses in where it doesn't belong? Nope.

The glorified vigilantes go on more assignments that you as the reader aren't apparently allowed to know about (so why even mention it???) while the failed glorified vigilante sulks about failing his training and plots his revenge against the instructor. So he takes a few armed men to the place where the other glorified vigilantes live and burns it to the ground looking for something that he thinks belongs to him. He claims he's not there to hurt people, but then he shoots people and kills someone with the most ridiculous weapon I've ever read about in my entire life.

He spends the rest of the book chasing down the girl he wronged and threatening violence against her despite the fact that I think he still wanted to be with her??? I don't even know. He's so backwards. The item that he is searching for is something he can't use without proper vigilante training to he is basically trying to use her to use this stupid magic warping device. 

The weapon of choice of this group of glorified vigilantes is the most convenient weapon in the history of ever. You basically hold it and it can turn into any kind of sword or knife that you want just by simply thinking it into being. It's even so strong that it can cut through metal! AND HAS A HANDY TRAINING MODE! Handy so you won't kill your friends! Honestly, just the explanation of this stupid weapon was almost enough to make me want to stop reading this book.

And the main character ends up getting with her cousin I think? Because her boyfriend is some psycho who keeps pointing guns at her and her cousin who has been pining after her forever finally looks good enough or something. I don't remember.

So basically the namesake of this book and what these characters were training to be is completely thrown out the window and set aside and just everything about this book felt like a huge joke to me. It's part of a series and I will 100% not be finishing it. Ever.

Okay, so after re-reading what I have written, this really doesn't feel like much of a bash. None of it is positive, but I feel like I could have done better. Like I said, I read this book last year so I really don't remember a LOT of what happened except that I didn't like any of it. I had written a review of it in a notebook when I read it because I was planning to start a blog at that point, but didn't get around to it for awhile. So since I never posted this review on my blog, I just changed the important words to keep the book's identity a secret. If you want to see something that feels a lot more like a bash, wait til my review of Sword and Verse posts. I half liked that book and it feels like way more of a bash than this does.

Get Up Offa That Slump: Do A Book Tag

Today for the Blogging Extravaganza I'm going to do a book tag! Since I just recently watched all of the Star Wars movies (minus The Force Awakens), I thought it would be fun to do a Star Wars tag! I found this one on YouTube from BangadyBangz! So without further ado, here we go!

Choose a character who is rogue-ish or a bit of a scoundrel.

For this question, I'm going to answer with Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles series. Mostly because I have gotten this question before on the TLC book tag as a prompt for Thorne and couldn't think of anyone else for it so now that it's appropriate to answer Thorne for this question, here ya go.

2. Obi Wan Kenobi

Choose a character who is a wise, old mentor.

I'm gonna go with Baghra (Is that how you spell it? I don't remember) from the Grisha trilogy. She's a good mentor to Alina when she's learning to control her sun summoning abilities even if she's kinda short with her sometimes.

3. Darth Vader

Choose a character who is a villain or at least started off as one.

I'm going to go with Clancy Gray from The Darkest Minds series! He was pretty much a villain for the whole series until the very end. Then he was just a boy who didn't want people messing with his brain.

4. R2D2

Choose a character who is a lovable robot.

Well, the only robot that I can even think of in a book that I've read is Iko. But I feel like I found Iko more obnoxious than lovable.

5. Princess Leia

Choose a character with noble upbringing or intentions.

My first thought for this question was Lia from The Kiss of Deception. She's a princess and I think that her intentions are entirely noble, but ahhh somewhere along the way, especially by the end of The Heart of Betrayal, they land her in ALL the trouble!

6. Chewbacca

Choose a character who is the sidekick.

Ron Weasley! He's so loyal and fun to read about.

7. Luke Skywalker

Choose a character who is a classic, epic hero.

The only character that I can think of for this prompt is Harry Potter. He's a pretty epic hero, striking down the evil Lord Voldemort and such.

8. Jar Jar Binks

Choose a character who annoyed the crap out of you.

I can't think of anyone in particular for this question, but generally if a female book character has a best friend in the book, I usually find them to be SO obnoxious. Like in Under the Never Sky, I was really excited that Aria's friend died in the first chapter because she managed to annoy me in less than one chapter.

Get Up Offa That Slump: Inspirational, Badass, and Strong Women in Fiction

Today for this blogging extravaganza, I'm going to talk about three of my favorite strong and inspirational women in fiction! International Women's Day was on March 8th, so this is a fantastic

My number one for this is going to be Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. I have not yet read the books, but I am in the middle of season three of the TV show right now and I just think that she is SO KICKASS!

She starts off in most unfortunate situation with her brother basically selling her off to the highest bidder in exchange for an army to reclaim the Iron Throne. She is forced to marry the leader of the Dothraki people and then to perform whatever kind of... consummation acts he wishes... :(

But then it's like she just decides to not take that crap anymore and she really impresses the Dothraki people and starts to own her situation and turn it around to suit her. After her brother gets taken out of the picture and her husband tragically passes, she leads whatever Dothraki people will still follow her and decides to go reclaim the throne that is rightfully hers (I love a story where a queen has to go reclaim her rightful throne so maybe that's part of why I love her so much). She mothers some dragons and she goes to acquire an army and ships and she strikes down anyone in her path that tries to hold her back or wrong her. She's good to her people and to other innocent people and just is all around strong, badass, and inspirational. I want to be her.

My next fictional and inspirational badass is Ruby Daly from The Darkest Minds! I can't sing enough praises for this book, I absolutely adore it in every way and I LOVE Ruby!

Ruby starts off scared, which is really understandable. She was taken, at the age of ten, to a rehabilitation camp for children who ended up with powers. And when she got off the bus, she realized that the power she ended up with was not one that was good to have. So she used her orange powers to convince everyone that she was a green and then promptly put a stopper on her powers so as not to cause any problems.

When she escapes years later, she is still scared. She is scared of her powers and scared of the people who rescued her and just basically everything. But after meeting up with the Black Betty crew, she makes friends and learns to master her power and generally becomes more confident. Then she goes on to make a REALLY tough choice to keep the love of her life safe and joins people that she isn't positive have the best intentions of the children in mind and throughout everything she manages to help liberate two camps I think? Including the one that she was stuck in. She comes a loooong way from the scared girl that she was to become the BADASS heroine that she is and I LOVE her!

And the third character that I'm going to talk about is Sharzhad from The Wrath and the Dawn! She is awesome, awesome, awesome.

She volunteers to be the next wife of Khalid, the Caliph of Khorasan, even though she knows everyday he takes a new wife and kills her. She volunteers to be his wife for the chance to seek revenge for him killing her best friend. Even though she knows what is bound to happen, she is determined to stay alive. And she manages to stay alive night after night, but she ends up seeing a part of Khalid that no one really knows about and despite everything, falls in love with him. She's sassy, strong, determined, and utterly just awesome!

3: Ever had a terrible breakup?

I've only had one breakup and I guess it was probably the worst one I ever had!

4: How tall are you?

Like 5'9"-ish.

5: Were you named after anyone?

My mom got my name out of a book that she just recently told me the name of. It's called The Kadin by Bertrice Small. 

6: Any tattoos?

I have one on my left foot. It's a heart with the words "Love is all you need" around one side. I am also planning another one with my sister!

7: Any piercings?

I have my ears pierced. I had my second holes done and then twice I tried having one like, right in the middle where lobe meets cartilage and one in the cartilage at the top. But none of them healed right. It makes me sad because my ears were so blingy for awhile and I loved it.

Liam Stewart and me Ruby Daly.

9: Favourite show?

Grey's Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, The 100, Law and Order: SVU, Sailor Moon, Game of Thrones, and that's really about all I watch lately.

Fall Out Boy and Taylor Swift make up like 90% of the playlist currently on my phone.

Living in town.

Lately I'm really fond of that song Same Old Love by Selena Gomez. It's really catchy.

I don't know. I guess I've never actively gone looking for a partner. But I quite like that the one that I found is really nice!

Loud in the car and when cleaning, soft any other time.

Away from other people.

21: How long does it take you to shower?

I try to shower as quickly as I can. I live so far in the middle of nowhere that there isn't running water and we have to drive into town in a truck with a 1,000 gallon water tank to haul water home to fill the cisterns! It really sucks.

22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

Not very long at all. I find that I like laying in bed more than I like looking presentable for work.

I have not.

Vanilla.

26: The reason I started blogging?

I had been seeing other people's blogs around for awhile and thought it looked like fun! And I really wanted to an outlet to talk about books because every time I talk about books to anyone around me, their eyes glaze over.

27: Fears?

I really don't like driving over bridges (which really and truly sucks because I have to drive over a bridge twice a day to get to and from work) or driving with water on both sides of the road. Never have and never will. Depending on the severity of the situation (like maybe flooding causing unfavorable road conditions), I'll unbuckle my seatbelt and roll down the window.

Plenty of other things too. I can scare myself so easily!

28: Last thing that made you cry?

The last thing I remember making me cry was Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys.

30: Meaning behind your Blog Name?

The first book I read after deciding that I was going to make a blog was Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I really loved the 'Rattle the stars' quote so I changed it to make it bookish!

I have a fluffy black cat named Roo after Ruby from The Darkest Minds! He was Ruby for a liiiiittle bit until the vet informed me that he was actually a boy.

When people screech their silverware against their plates. Oh, how that makes me cringe.

41: If you had to choose to live without one of your five sense, which would it be and why?

I would have to go with taste because I'm the pickiest eater in the world and life would just be easier if I couldn't taste anything.

42: What was your dream job growing up?

When I was little, I wanted to be the usual veterinarian or teacher. But in high school, I wanted to be a graphic designer or an interior decorator. Now I just want to be a bum.

43: What instruments do you play??

I tried playing the flute in middle school and I was awful at it.

I like my fandom necklaces. I have a triforce necklace, a deathly hallows necklace, a time turner necklace, and a mockingjay necklace.

I don't remember the last sport I played. I am not really into sports. Like at all.

Probably Let It Go from Frozen.

47: Would you rather explore a new planet or the deepest parts of the ocean and why?

I would rather explore the deepest parts of the ocean because outer space scares me and I want to see all the really ugly deep sea fishies.

I'd rattle chains in a castle dungeon!!

49: Last time you hung out with anyone?

I hang out with the BF everyday because we live together! Sometimes I wonder what that does for my sanity. It is SO easy to tell that he's an only child because he doesn't know how to play by himself.

50: What is the funniest thing you have heard a child say?

I was in a store one time and some little kid was running around and ran into a garbage and shouted, "SORRY TRASHCAN!"

Another time, at a coffee shop, I heard a little kid say, "Mommy! There's a REFRIGERATOR in here!!!!!"
