This year I have decided that I'm going to participate in Beat the Backlist hosted by Austine from NovelKnight and A Series a Month hosted by Dani from Dani Reviews Things.
I am going to combine the two challenges and read a backlist series every month. I am really good about buying all the books in a series, but not nearly as good about reading them... Yeah, I'm actually really bad about reading them.
Anyway, here are the series I WILL be reading:
January:
The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows
The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows
And here are the potential series that I could also read:
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
-Need to buy War Storm & would include one reread.-
-One book won't count for Beat the Backlist.-
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
-Would include one reread.-
Graceling by Kristin Cashore
Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard
The Island by S. Usher Evans
-Would include two rereads.-
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
-Would include one reread.-
Of Metal and Wishes by Sarah Fine
Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen
The Young Elites by Marie Lu
-Would include one reread.-
Given to the Sea by Mindy McGinnis
-Need to buy Given to the Earth.-
-One book won't count for Beat the Backlist.-
Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
-Need to buy Infinite.-
The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
-Would include two rereads.-
Defiance by C. J. Redwine
The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
-Would include two rereads.-
Song of the Current by Sarah Tolcser
-Would include one reread.-
-One book won't count for Beat the Backlist.-
Splintered by A. G. Howard
Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas
-Need to buy The Immortal Heights.-
Reign of Shadows by Sophie Jordan
-Need to buy Rise of Fire.-
I definitely want to stick more to series that don't require a lot of rereads. And if at all possible, not a lot of additional purchases either.
I'm not 100% sure which ones I all want to read. I am thinking I will definitely do Six of Crows and Song of the Current. We shall see how it goes.
And in the Beat the Backlist challenge, I will be reppin'...
I ALSO might want to try the PopSugar 2018 Reading Challenge... I don't know, but it looks like it could be fun.
Here are the prompts:
So that's about all I have planned for 2018. I feel like that's a lot. I'm probably not going to stick to much/any of it. But here is me saying I'm going to make an effort.
Are you participating in any 2018 reading challenges? Are you going to be reading any of the same books as me? Let me know in the comments!
I'm a dewey dragon too! I like that you are combining the two challenges. I need to finish and read some series as well. :)

Yay for Dewey Dragons! I thought it would be a good idea to combine them and to kill two birds with one stone! I really want to accomplish this, hopefully I will actually stick to it, but in all likelihood, I will forget about it by February.
DeleteGood luck with your challenges. I thought about doing a series a month but I did not want to commit to reading a full series each month. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not 100% sure that I can commit to a whole series a month, but we will see! A few of the series on my list are just duologies so I'm probably going to do a good job of sticking to those! Haha!
