  1. I can't wait to read This Savage Song when I come back from my vacation! I didn't get anything this week, but bought something for a stranger. :)

    1. I hope I like it! It sounds really good, but almost like it might not be QUITE my thing? I don't know, but it was under $7 and everyone raves about the author's writing, so it's gotta be good!

  3. I have Ivory and Bone as well but haven't read it yet. I want to read it soon though. The main thing though is that I need to get back into reading. I didn't actually buy anything this week, but I did borrow and start listening to the audiobook of The Phantom of the Opera. It's okay so far.

    1. I don't think I knew there was a book of The Phantom of the Opera! I want to check that out! I loved the movie! I hope you enjoy Ivory and Bone when you get around to it! It sounds fantastic!

  4. I loved A Darker Shade Of Magic, so I thought I would like Schwab's other books, but so far I have been striking out. I read Vicious and too many coincidences were used (in my opinion) to move the story forward and there was just about zero explanation for the powers the characters had. Then I read This Savage Song and it was the same thing. It is just weird to me that these books came from the same author who wrote such a watertight magical system, and used no coincidences in ADSOM.

    1. I have A Darker Shade of Magic, but I haven't read it yet. I'm excited to just because everyone loves it. I haven't read any of her books yet. I hope they work out better for me than they have for you! Most of the time how the story moves along doesn't bother me too much, the thing that drives me nuts in books is if the characters suck!
