Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish!

Today's topic is Top Ten Books I Picked Up On A Whim!

1. Red Queen

I picked this book up just because I had seen pictures of it literally all over the place. And this was a point where I was not blogging or in the bookish community or anything and still I somehow saw it everywhere! It was one of the first books I preordered. I never read the synopsis so I had no idea what it was going to be about. I am glad that I ended up LOVING it!

2. The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson

This was one I just picked up while browsing in the bookstore. I don't know if the synopsis just didn't really go into that much detail about it or if I didn't read it well enough, but something was introduced in the book that I was surprised to see because I don't remember it being mentioned in the synopsis. I loooove that series.

3. The Diviners by Libba Bray

I picked this book up because I had seen pictures of the cover and thought it was really pretty! And it sounded super interesting, but oh my word. I did NOT like that book.

4. The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I picked this one up because I had seen that some people I know that really don't read loved this book. It didn't sound like something that I would ever read, but I knew they were making a movie so I picked it up. This was another one that was NOT a Cyra book.

5. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I picked this one out as a birthday gift from my mom because the synopsis sounded interesting and books about circuses are fun, but I ended up really not liking this one either.

6. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

I was looking at a list of books about road trips and this one was listed! That was really all I knew about it when I picked it up! BEST WHIM BUY EVER!

7. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

I had never read a Colleen Hoover book, but I always saw people raving about her. All I knew about Ugly Love when I picked it up was that it was going to be sad! This was another excellent whim book!

8. Divergent by Veronica Roth

I picked this one up because I had seen a picture of it on the internet somewhere and I thought the cover looked cool! I quite enjoyed this one as well.

9. The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorenson

I got this one because I was shopping around for cheap ebooks and this one looked interesting. I didn't LOVE this book, but I kinda enjoyed it. I still have yet to continue the series, but I want to.

10. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I picked up this book just because the first movie was in theaters and I wanted to go see it, but I wanted to read the book first. I read all three books and saw the movie in less than a week.

  1. I do a lot of whim picking on the internet via Kindle deals and Edelweiss and Netgalley. I won't usually spend more than $2.99 on an author I am not familiar with so I don't do any whim buying in book stores. I stil have to get to The Darkest Mind books I have. I hope it will be soon. :)

    1. I hope it will be soon! I would LOVE to see reviews of the Darkest Minds on your blog! That is my favorite series ever! I don't really whim buy in stores anymore either because it usually doesn't end up all that well. But sometimes you just gotta take that leap.
