Stacking the Shelves (#39)

Saturday, April 16, 2016

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews to highlight books received each week!

During the week of April 9th - 15th, I got...

GIVEAWAY:

I won the giveaway for a Star-Touched Queen prize pack! The ARC was not included, this cruddy picture is just me attempting to take a cool picture! Included were: 3 illustrations from the book, iron in star charms for your hair, a memory tree wall decal, and a glass flower. I took better pictures of the illustration cards below.

Thank you Roshani, for this wonderful prize pack! I completely forgot I even signed up for this! Can't wait to get my beautiful, shiny hardcover on the 26th!

I also won a hardcover of Dreamology by Lucy Keating from Brittany from Brittany's Book Rambles! Thanks Captain! The cover of this book is so so so pretty!

BOUGHT:

All of the following books I got from my local library's book sale room! Me Before You is the one I am the most excited about finding! And it's in such good condition!

I'm not 100% sure what this series is, in fact, I haven't even really looked at them yet. But since it's like National Library Week or something they were having a bag sale. $2 to fill a bag full of books! The lady supervising to room said she read this whole series and enjoyed them. I don't even remember what they're about, but they sounded interesting.

I picked this one up because I just saw George R.R. Martin on the spine. It appears to be some kind of anthology about warriors and war stories. I haven't really looked into this one either. It just caught my eye and fit in the bag. :)

I saw someone talking about this book recently so that's pretty much why I picked this one up!

NETGALLEY:

This one just looks like it would be a fun one to read and it is the first wish I ever got granted on Netgalley! Exciiiiiting!

What goodies did you get this week?

  1. I love your TSTQ swag pack! I adored the book. That library sale sounds amazing! I wish I had been home during the week, to see if my local library was having a sale. I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Cyra!

    Have a lovely weekend. :)

    1. That book was really so amazing, I was so surprised when I was tweeted at that I won! I completely forgot about it and was kinda like... hehe is this something I signed up for orrr?? Haha!

I'm just pumped that I was actually able to make it to the library sale! It was really busy that day and the BF wanted to come with! I think we got to the library like a half an hour before it closed! I've finally made the plunge and gotten a library card too!

  2. Wow what a great haul! That is totally me when it comes to buying books - I get home and think, actually I have no idea what that book is about...oh well! I'm planning on reading Me Before You soon so I'm crossing my fingers that it's going to be as good as everyone is making it out to be!

    1. Haha! I hope I like Me Before You too! I'm just not certain that it will be my cup of tea, but everyone loves it so much and I like books that break my little heart. So here's to hoping that we both like it!

    1. I have a really cool idea for an art project for Dreamology that I hope I can find all the supplies to make it! The cover is so pretty, I want to make it into cool art! I will definitely DM you about it!!! I'm getting more excited for Memoirs of a Geisha now! I just wish it wasn't mass market paperback. I'm gonna have to wait til I get new glasses to read it!

  4. A after seeing all the great things people are saying about The Star-Touched Queen, I wish I had requested it. I am thinking of reading Me Before You, also. People keep telling me I need to, but I am not sure it is my thing. I have also been seeing Dreamology around a lot. Great haul! My library only has used book sales four times a year, and they are always early in the morning on Saturdays, ugh. I would love them to have a room that is open year round. They have a gift shop with a cashier, so it doesn't seem like it would be to hard to manage. :)

    1. I'm not sure that Me Before You will be my thing either, but I basically got it for nothing so I am not too worried about it! I just want to read it because everyone says it will make me cry and I like that in a book. This was my first time going to my library's book sale room and I guess it's open once a month! There really isn't that much good stuff in there, apparently there aren't a lot of youths that frequent the library so there wasn't much for YA in there, which made me kinda sad. A library with a gift shop?? That's interesting, I haven't been to too many libraries before, but I've never seen one with a gift shop! That's kinda cool! I hope that you get your hands on a FC of The Star-Touched Queen soon so you can read it! It's amazing!!!
